March 11-20

Everyday continues to bring new developments. Over the last couple of weeks, Evie has become a champion at blowing bubbles, can roll over from her belly to back, can push herself around in circles and has got her first tooth bud. She changes almost by the minute with new sounds, faces, and feats.

We had beautiful weather for the start of spring this last weekend. We put Evie in the stroller and walked up to the Brooklyn Promenade. This was her first full view of the city. As you can see, Evie was exhausted by the time we got home.

Evie is really starting to study her toys and has been especially interested in a chicken. Over the weekend, Erik and I realized that we were naming her animals different names. As if Evie didn't already have enough to learn. After some debate, we came to an agreement on what we would call everyone. We are also happy that Evie has also begun to show interest in her books.

Much to Evie's delight, Erik's folks were in town for a long weekend visit. She sang songs with Nana and played in her gym with Papa in tow. Many naps were had in their arms and fun was had by all.

We put Evie in her finest frock, (an adorable dress from my cousin Anne) and headed over to Jackie's for a dual celebration last Sunday. Jackie cooked a lobster dinner in honor of Bonnie's birthday and for me and Erik's 2nd anniversary. We ate like kings while Jack and Evie kept us all entertained.

Evie got to meet some extended family (through her Uncle Jim) a few weeks ago. Jim's sister Carolyn was in town for Jack birthday and got a couple of good photos that I wanted to share. Evie took a real shine to Carolyn and can't wait for her and Jim's niece Jess to visit again.

Photo Shoot

Evie's wild hair.

The first video is of the tale end of Evie rolling over from her belly to her back. The other video is of Evie chillin' in her swing with her chicken.

  2. Oh, wow! I'm honored that Evie wore that dress to a dinner party! She looks adorable! I also really like that grey smock she's wearing in the photo shoot. Very cute.

Watch out with the books--pretty soon Evie will be grabbing at the pages. You'll have to switch to all board books for a while and put the paper-page books up high!
